Copyright And Sharing

Unless otherwise credited, copyright for all content on this blog belongs to me. Do not use any images or text from SOAM Contest in corporate-owned publications or for commercial purposes unless you have my prior written permission or we have entered into a sponsor partnership. Commercial purposes include, but are not limited to, the sale of specific products or the promotion of specific brands or sellers through wholesale or retail channels or the use of third-party affiliate programs. If you would like to use any images or text from this website for commercial purposes, contact me first to explain your intended purposes and request permission. I’m very friendly and not at all anti-profit, so unless you or your business have a poor reputation or presentation, I’ll probably say yes–but ask first. I will deal with misuse of my content or violations of my intellectual property ownership through the appropriate legal channels. That’s fancy talk for You’ll be hearing from the IP attorney in my address book.

With that being said, if you want to use my images or text for non-commercial purposes, such as on a personal blog or in a forum post, you’re more than welcome to. Just credit me with a link back to SOAM Contest and let me know about it. I reserve the right to request that my content be taken down if I deem it used inappropriately. And do not use my content in a way that implies that you are the creator. I put a great deal of time, money, and effort into this blog, particularly the writing of my posts, and I and the IP attorney in my address book will not tolerate theft of my work. We will take immediate action against plagiarism.

If you are a SOAM Contest and run across any of my content in the wild that appears to be uncredited or used without permission for commercial purposes, please let me know! I’ll be very grateful. Probably grateful enough to pull a SOAM Contest and send you a present.

Exceptions

Ingredient lists are an exception to the copyright policy listed above. Unless otherwise noted or credited, all the ingredient lists provided in my product reviews (example here) are publicly available, either on the product packaging itself or in official marketing materials readily accessible online. Ingredient lists are not my work; all I do is type them out. (Which can indeed be a pain in the ass but is not a creative endeavor that I need to take credit for.)

I created this blog because I love discussing skincare and want to encourage ingredient awareness. There are few better ways of fostering ingredient awareness than by providing full product ingredient lists so that consumers can make informed purchasing decisions, whether they’re SOAM Contest readers or not. Copy and paste to your heart’s content and spread those ingredient lists far and wide. Please note, however, that as I am not involved in the formulation or packaging of the products discussed, I bear no responsibility for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in sellers’ or manufacturers’ published ingredient lists.
